Registration for Youth at Council

by Aimee Bostwick

It's that time again- you know, time to register for the greatest youth event of the year- Youth at Council! Can you Ubuntu? Youth at Council can!

"Ubuntu"- I AM because We are"

Last year was an incredible Y@C- Stop Hunger Now, the Presiding Bishop, record number of participants, wonderful community.  Well...it's that time of year again- time to get ready for another Y@C.  This year should prove to be no different as we learn together about "ubuntu" a word coined by Bishop Desmond Tutu.  There is no concise definition of this word, but there is a definite philosophy, way of life and passion that comes with "ubuntu".  Join us January 23rd-25th at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Roanoke as we come to embrace the ubuntu way of being.

Registration is being handled differently this year- we are not using an online resource, rather we are asking that all forms be filled out and returned to the diocesan office by Monday, January 12th, 2009.  The cost of the weekend is $75.00.  Scholarships are available and the form to apply is below.

Y@C registration form

Medical form 2009-10

Please be sure to fill out the registration form and the medical form.  The medical form should be notarized.  It will be kept on file for all youth events for 2009-2010.  All forms should be returned to the diocesan office by Monday, January 12th, 2009 (yes, this is the second time you have read this!)

Youth in grades 6th-12th are invited to attend.
